Tantra for Couples
A relationship brings two individuals together, each with their own experiences, feelings, boundaries and relationship with themselves.
Yet within relationships, we can sometimes become so focused on the other person, on meeting expectations or on maintaining the relationship that we lose awareness of ourselves.
We may look to another person to reassure us, define us or provide a sense of connection that we have stopped experiencing within ourselves.
Tantra invites us to consider what happens when we begin by reconnecting with ourselves.
When we become more aware of our own feelings, breathing, boundaries and experience, we may find new ways of being present with another person.
The intention is not to become dependent on someone else for our sense of self.
Nor is it to lose our individuality in the relationship.
Couples of any sex are welcome to experience Tantra together. I speak with both of you at the same time before your experience, so that each of you is heard.
Meditation, conscious breathing and awareness can offer opportunities to explore presence, listening, boundaries and connection without demanding a particular outcome.
Tantra does not see sexuality as separate from the whole of who you are. A deeper sexuality is found by working with the whole person, so that connection deepens in every area of life: how you connect with yourself, with others and with everything around you. In this way, Tantra becomes a way of life, of presence, of feeling and of breathing life in.
It is to recognise that authentic connection begins with two people who are each allowed to be themselves.
